Today the profession of a business coach and coach has become very fashionable. There are even institutions that train such specialists. As a rule, graduates of these institutions are theorists in the field of entrepreneurship, people who are trying to teach to do what they have never done themselves, and if they did, they did not achieve results.
This, in my opinion, is the big problem of the market – the need for business education exists and remains, even in spite of the crisis. In 2014, the growth of the business education market in Rostov was about 10%, and the market volume was 150 million rubles.
Now, these indicators continue to grow. At seminars, training, and master classes organized by our company, we always have almost one hundred percent workload. At the recent seminar of Vladimir Solovyov “Tough Negotiations” there was generally a stir.
Yes, of course, the lecturer’s fame gave great influence, but the topic itself influenced the desire of entrepreneurs to come to the seminar. Entrepreneurs have a need to learn how to conduct effective negotiations and, judging by the geography of the participants (we had guests from remote cities of Russia, Poland, Armenia), this need is observed not only in our region.
Moreover, I am sure that we are seeing a high market demand for training now, not despite the crisis, but thanks to it – a decrease in the money supply, an unstable situation creates unusual conditions to which company owners need to adapt.
But in this case, we are talking about the need for quality education. Unsuccessful learning experiences at other companies create skepticism in clients about our services. However, there is another problem – the unwillingness of the target audience to learn. It seems to a person that he already knows everything, and when he hears this or that information again, he is disappointed and says that he has not learned anything new, the courses are ineffective.
No one thinks why he continues to ride the trolleybus if he knows how to make a million! Repetition is the mother of learning. When choosing a lecturer, pay attention to what results in the speaker himself has achieved. If you are motivated by his performance, do not stop him from sharing his experience with you, even if during the training you will hear what you already know. You need to learn how to apply this knowledge.
In my opinion, today the market most of all lack business courses on training management technologies. I don’t mean time management. I’m talking about tools that will help the owner create a business development strategy for 3-5 years in advance, develop the structure of the company, hire and train an executive director, learn to work effectively with the CFO, and think over the creation of a branch network. It is very important to live not only for today but to look at the years ahead. And especially today.
